The grey squirrel, as I affectionately call “Wisconsin monkeys”, have become a favorite to me since I have had the honor of rehabbing some babies through the Wildlife Sanctuary’s R-PAWS program.  I have learned a new appreciation for the adorable tree acrobats.

I think they are often misunderstood and underappreciated. Their primary goal of every day is finding food, eating food and stashing food.  They are food obsessed!

If you take the time to watch them, they certainly will put a smile on your face.  They are one of the most agile animals around and just do funny things.
