The majestic Bald Eagle has made a huge comeback in recent years with the banning of DDT.  We must be more reverent to protect these amazing raptors, because man continues to put their lives at danger with poisoning.  Lead poisoning is seen much too often in many animals largely due to lead ridden ammo and fishing tackle left behind by sportsmen.  It takes very little lead, (the size of the tip of a pencil) to kill a Bald Eagle.  Once an eagle shows signs of sickness, it is already too late to cure.  Another killer of wildlife including our eagles is common poison that people put out for pest and rodent control.  It is never a good idea to use any kind of poison, for it more times than not will take out any other animal that would consume the affected subject.

We have a voice and it starts with us.  Speak up for the unheard voices of the wildlife and make a difference!  Let’s keep the Bald Eagle around for many years to come!
